O The Effort!

Very nice, man. My WMP likes you too much. It went all crazy while it played.

Although I'm not too big a SMetal person, I liked this piece quite well. As the one-liner goes, the effort, I can tell, was genuine. As a novice guitarist I can barely imagine the talent this piece required.

I'm quite an F-Zero person myself. When you have the time, why not drop by my Audio Page? I have at least 3 songs for F-Zero GX. Unfortunately I have no means of getting my guitar captured onto my comp. Not enough money.

FlameMesial responds:

Thanks buddy, it wasn't the hardest thing I've had to play, the worst part was tuning from standard to open C and keeping the bastard in tune while playing it.

I'll check out your F-Zero GX tunes, although the dance beats on that game don't really interest me :(

Thanks for the review buddy!

Short But Sweet

I'm surprised you don't get that many reviews.
Having said that, I'll get to it.

Nice choice of synths. It got a little out of hand near the end, but it was hardly noticeable.

I didn't hear much percussion, but it could be the laptop I'm using at the moment.

Overall, it was quite decent of a piece. You are in need of more publicity!
I'm not so bad myself. If you have any spare time, go ahead and look around my Audio Page.

Injected-Reality responds:

thanks for the review i checked out your work and think you did a good job too

Very Nice

Nice percussion. That really did it for this piece.

The only thing that bothered me was the resonance of some of the synths. If you use FL, I suggest the Fruity Compressor for the Master Mixer.

Other than that, I've come to realize how far I am from being that good! Great job, man.

I just recently brought in another VG Remix. It may not be as good or original, but your advise would be greatly appreciated!

MackerelSalad responds:

Dude, I can master good enough to know a compressor can be handy, but a Fruity Compressor won't do the job good, because it isn't a multiband compressor, I use my own stuff, and yeah, the clarity on this one was a mistake, which I tried to fix, but the outcome wasn't too good.
Thanks for the review!

Cool

Nice way to do it, adding a mysterious feel to it.

Have you played the GBA version with the "Four Swords" pack? I loved that one! If you go to the "Four Swords" menu after the intro, the theme song is even better than this one. I'd like to remix it myself, its so good.

Goiod job, man.

Gorekiller responds:

Thanks for the review ! Yes, I've played the GBA version with the "Four Swords" pack. I've played ALTTP. I've also played FSA in Gamecube but not FS in GBA. I've choosen to cover the ALTTP version cuz my instruments were quite swell for this kind of stuff. Thanks !

Hmm...!

This is actually a nice change of pace. Why hasn't anyone else reviewed?

The toms needed some help, but other than that, it was a nice piece! Is it an original creation?

Gorekiller responds:

Indeed, this was just a remix of the song "Deeper Underground" by Jamiroquai. The right title is "Deeper Underground" and not "Deeper than underground". Otherwise, thanks for the review !

Needs Work

Granted, it was a good remix, its drum performance was too strong for my taste, and there was something missing in it... I can't tell what exactly it was, but I know that it needed something, just like mine needs to be done over.

I admit mine wasn't as long and didn't have as much originality, but I know that I'm gonna get around to re-doing it. Until then, man.

Gorekiller responds:

...I've tried to recreate the universe of this video game. I've used those power drums for the retro effect. I haven't put as many instruments as you. Thanks for the feedback.

Interesting

That plugin for a guitar didn't seem very strong. In fact, the bass sort of swallowed it up! It is an interesting way to view it, but only if the main melody was stronger... I would advise finding a different plugin or raising the volume on it.

But for the most part, it was decent. Nice work.

Gorekiller responds:

Thanks for the review ! I've recorded my Electric Piano Casio 1600 playing that tune with WavePad ! I hadn't any software during this time. That's the reason ! If I've raised the general volume, I would have hit the saturation level. But now that I've got a MIDI software, it will be easier to raise the volume of an instrument or in general without hitting the saturation level.

Not that good

This song had a lot of potential that was just wasted over the 4:08. You may as well have only had it loop once to save space.

The fact of the matter is, if yer gonna make it so dam long, mix it up, and really bring out an attractive synth, not just the same monotones. How many times did you hear the F-Zero GX song? There's more diversity in IT.

True, I haven't heard any others try this so far, but that's even more of a reason to make it shine. Granted, it's 2 years old of this review, but still...

I hope you at least read your reviews, since I can tell you don't bother responding to them.

TheGimpsta responds:

Yea I read them, it's just hard to keep up with them because newgrounds doesn't contact you when you get a audio review...

Anyway, this (like most my songs) is an Midi tuned up with FL Studio. Mostly because I really suck at matching the notes myself just by listening to the song... And like you said, this is about 2 years old, when i was still learning how to use the program.

Mabye I'll make a more diverse sounding version later on though.

Thanks for the review. =)

Getting there

It's not the best I've heard, but I have to give you credit for trying a different view of the song.

It was executed pretty well, though I know you could have done better. Granted it was a while ago you submitted this, I can't help but have expected better from an F-Zero remix.

My version isn't that much better, but I can tell it's more aggressive: an F-Zero song must be more aggressive.

Gorekiller responds:

Damn ! I forget this review! Okay, I'll try to make it more agressive even thought I don't play the guitar and yes, I'll listen to yours !

Nice

The synths dropped in and did their jobs right. I can see a flash game with your name on it. Your choice of bass (I believe Electric SBass?) was also good for mixing things up.

You definitely must contimue with it, as it has a lot of potential. I can already come up with some add-ons.

Stargame responds:

Cool! Nah, it's the deepbass #3(I think). A flash game, eh? Maybe. I'll see what I can do with it ;)
